Ed King born September 14, 1949

Ed King ,who wrote what would become one of the most famous guitar riffs in the history of Rock n Roll..Sweet Home Alabama, originally was hired as a Bass player for Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Ed King calls himself the second luckiest guitar player in history.

Ronnie Van Zant was able to talk Leon Wilkeson back and moved Ed King to guitar explaining to Ed with his arm around him;"Your'e the worst Bass player I ever played with"

Ronnie may have been in error though, because the "Worst" Bass player played on the first officially released Lynyrd Skynyrd album Pronounced in 1973 and the album is legendary status today.

Even a genius can be wrong sometimes.
