William Norris "Billy" Powell born June 3, 1952

What can you say? Listen to "Tuesday's Gone" "Free Bird" Billy Powell is one of the great piano players of rock n roll. He made his place known in Lynyrd Skynyrd's Music.Originally hired as a roadie,The band heard him play his version of Free Bird after a gig,on a piece of crap piano, back stage at a school house and were Astonished!Ronnie offered Billy a job right there.

Billy continues to play With Gary Rossington in the Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band.
